Faces of Manufacturing honors hard-working, dedicated people throughout the state who work within or are affected by manufacturing companies. The individual stories showcase manufacturing’s impact to Georgia communities and continue to promote manufacturing as a thriving industry within the state.
Faces of Manufacturing was developed by the Georgia Manufacturing Extension Partnership (GaMEP) at Georgia Tech and is supported by Georgia Tech, organizations and companies across Georgia, our partners, and our national sponsor, NIST MEP.
Georgia Tech has a long history of involvement with manufacturing. In 1885, Georgia Tech was founded to transform the South into an industrial economy. Today the institute supports manufacturing through degree programs, open-enrollment courses, research, technical assistance, and more. GaMEP, a federal and state funded program out of Georgia Tech, is a member of the National MEP network supported by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and has been serving Georgia manufacturers since 1960.
The GaMEP helps manufacturers increase top-line growth and reduce bottom-line costs. With nine regional offices across the state, GaMEP offers a solution-based approach through coaching, implementation, and training in areas such as: Business Development, Process Improvement, Sustainability, Energy, and ISO Standards.
